Adventure in the Orange Groves

I hope no one gets offended by this post; it is not my intention, but this shoot turned adventure is just a little too funny not to share.  This is part 2 of THIS shoot.

I found these orange groves that had this tall grass growing everywhere and was so pretty and thought it would be perfect for this shoot.  So I meet my girlfriend Sunny and her cute baby at the location in a neighborhood next to the groves to get all our stuff together and go find our spot.  There was this nice man watching us get ready and as we’re about to walk into the groves this is how the conversation goes:

man: “so uh… what are you guys doing?”
S: “Oh we’re just going to go take some pictures in the orange groves”
man: “Ok, we’ll you girls be careful”
S: “Why is it thorny in there?”
man: “No, there’s a bunch of people living in there”

Sunny and I looked at each other like, WHAT?!?  Not to mention that we looked like we were moving in there as well!  She’s carrying a baby and a diaper bag, while I have 2 suitcases, and a full garbage bag full of props flung over my shoulder.  So we decide to go in anyway and to just keep our eyes open.  The way the man was talking, it wasn’t the most safe place to be, plus we are both tiny girls who don’t look very intimidating.  Sunny is just over 5 ft and as we’re walking I look at her and she has a can of mace out at the ready and tells me, “don’t worry, I’m not afraid to use this stuff”.  I was laughing so hard, but with every noise we heard we would look at each other to make sure it was us making the noise.  Anyway, we were walking towards the grassy spot and then randomly come across an open area with about 10 air mattresses, clothes lines hung up everywhere, and ice chests on the ground.  So we decided to forget the grassy spot and the cool pictures it would give us and go back to the muddy part with weeds and be a little more safe.  Maybe this was a “you had to be there” things… but there were some funny memories made.

Even with mud and weeds I LOVE these pictures we got.  This sweet baby is the easiest to take pictures of.  So smiley!  A little singing and getting her momma to do some crazy dance moves and you’ve got smiles galore.

Lovin’ these Seniors!

Another graduate super excited to be almost done with high school.  How good looking is this guy?  Super easy to work with… even when I was giving him a hard time.  I know Tyler’s brother and he’s a total joker so I started teasing Tyler and forgot I hadn’t actually met him before, but he was a good sport.  By the way, he’s single… doesn’t care if I set him up… has  one condition, no games.  Fair enough.

Ok, on to the pictures.  Thanks for the fun shoot Tyler.  Enjoy your sneak peek!!!  This first one…  love how it turned out!

Cowgirls and a WINNER!

First things first.  The winner of the MINI SESSION by random drawing is…..

drumroll please…..

Lindsay Riggs!!! Hey call me and we’ll set something up.
I am contacting those by email who scheduled sessions and wrote “product giveaway” to tell you what you won!!!

This is one of my greatest friends ever.  How fun to do a shoot of just a mommy playing with her baby girl.  They had matching cowboy boots, that were so cute and matching shirts (yes she is tiny enough to shop in the kids section and get a matching shirt.  Love it!)  Little aspen has the most hilarious facial expressions and is easiest baby to take pictures of.

Just you wait until part 2 of this shoot.  I don’t think you’ll be able to contain yourselves in all the cuteness.  I’m getting excited just thinking about the images we got.  So cute!!!

Fun at the Lake

This shoot was so much fun.  I love it when clients go for any crazy thing I come up with and are game for anything!  I love these and had a blast doing them.  Enjoy the end of your senior year Elise; I LOVE these!!!

This and that…

The giveaway is over, the winner(s) will be announced soon.  Until then, enjoy some images from a recent wedding.
